Fruit and vegetables for healthy skin

The vitamins, minerals, enzymes and proteins in fruit and vegetables have powerful action on the skin. Include at least five portions in your daily diet to give your skin extra protection.
  • APPLE

Apple is high in pectin, which binds easily to toxic metals such as mercury and lead that may infiltrate the skin. it also has strong antiviral vitamin C, essential for skin healing.

Rich in antioxidant vitamin A, C and E and in potassium, avocado is also high in calories, so eat sparingly. Avocado is widely used in commercial skin preparations.

Containing good levels of a wide range of vitamins and minerals including potassium and vitamin C, bananas are also used in many natural skincare products.

  • BEETROOT

Rich in iron, beetroot helps to purify the blood and remove toxins from the skin. It also has vitamins A and C for strong skin, and calcium for healthy nerves and bones.

  • CAPSICUM

Capsicum such as yellow and red peppers have very high levels of vitamin C. They are also high in beta carotene, iron and potassium- all good skin protectors.

  • CARROT

Carrot is a rich source of vitamins A, C, and E. and beta carotene, as well as iron, calcium and potassium which help to form blood cells and promote strong bones.

  • GARLIC

Garlic has strong antiseptic, antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties. it is a natural detoxifier and antioxidant and strengthens the immune system.

Along with other citrus fruits, lemons are rich in vitamin C. In addition, the rind is packed with essential oils. Lemon juice can soften hard water and wash soap residues from skin.

  • LIVE SPROUTS

Fresh live sprouts like alfalfa and bean sprouts are high in plant enzymes, essential fatty acids, B-complex vitamins and vitamins A, C and E. If left to grow nutrients will increase.

  • PARSLEY

Parsley is rich in beta carotene, vitamin C, calcium, iron magnesium, phosphorus, potassium and chorophyll and has traces of zinc and manganese.

The inside of a pineapple makes an ideal exofoliant when rubbed over the skin. Pineapple is also good in facial treatments for problems skin. Eaten, it is ag ood source of vitamin C.

  • WATERCRESS

Watercress is a powerful blood cleanser and helps to rid the body toxins, making the skin clearer and healthier. it is also rich in A, C and E antioxidant vitamins.
